The master planner

God is a master planner. God has a master plan for each of his children to follow in life. There is an expected end meant for each of us. God knows the way. When we follow his leading and directions, we cannot miss our way in life.

“And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go” (Exo. 3:20).

God revealed his plan to Moses. It was a master plan. God told Moses: ‘Pharaoh will not let you go easily. I will stretch forth my mighty hands and do wonders before he will let you go. I will also give you favour before the Egyptians so that you can ask for their silver and gold and spoil them. You will not go empty handed’ (Exo. 3:19-22). This is a big assignment for Moses, but God had it all figured out. It will be difficult for Pharaoh to let Israel go, but at the end, he will have no choice. God’s mighty hand will come upon the Egyptians and they will let Israel go free.

Kingdom assignments are doable.

No kingdom assignment is easy, but God always has it all figured out. All that is required is our obedience to God’s calling upon our lives. God’s assignments can be done and will be done when we take our instructions from God and walk in obedience. God is a master planner.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jer. 29:11).

God’s thoughts towards us are not of evil. They are thoughts meant to lead us to our expected end. When God calls a man he has a purpose for the man to fulfil. That is the expected end in view. If the called follows God’s plan, he will eventually arrive at the expected end for him. God rolled out His master plan for Moses. Moses could see that everything about the calling was already laid out. Moses was only expected to walk in the revealed plan.

The mind of God is revealed to us by God about our purpose in life when we ask for it. Moses wanted to know every detail and God told him. If you ask God about his master plan for your life, he will show you. God never likes to keep his people in the dark about his plans for them. The problem is that we don’t have enough time to listen to God and let him show us, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little. In his light, we see light. When we walk in the light we have received, we see more light.

The battle of Jericho

After Joshua conquered Jericho and he was faced with Ai, he did not know that there was a divine master-plan for each battle and assignment. God gave the battle-plan for Jericho. God said to Joshua:

“I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days… and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with trumpets. And it shall come to pass that when they make a long blast with the rams horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.” (Joshua 6:2-5).

Joshua followed the master plan, and the wall of Jericho fell down flat on the seventh day according to the word of the Lord. Jericho was captured and burnt with fire. It was a great victory for Israel and for Joshua “So the Lord was with Joshua: and his fame was noised throughout all the country” (Joshua 6:27).  Joshua’s fame was noised abroad. All the other cities heard that Jericho, the strong walled city had fallen to Joshua. Fear gripped them. The victory of Joshua was the headline news in all the countries around. Everybody saw that God was surely with Joshua. Joshua became a famous man by simply following divine master plan. God is a master planner.

The battle of Ai

Next on Joshua’s list was the tiny city of Ai. Here, he forgot to go to God for the battle plan for Ai. He presumptuously undermined Ai and sent just a few soldiers to capture the village. To his utmost surprise, Israel was beaten in Ai and about thirty-six men were lost in the battle. Joshua lost the battle because he only listened to the advice of the spies he sent to Ai. He did not consult God. When Joshua eventually consulted God, God exposed the evil deeds of Achan and Achan was severely dealt with.  God gave him the key to the battle against Ai:
