Knowing That We All Need Money, Should Christians Pursue Money? (Part 6)

This is the concluding part of this series. My final note under this topic is to Church leaders. I want to talk to us on how to raise money for our ministries. Ministry needs a lot of money to do so many things that are required for the day to day running of our Churches. Men of God also need money for their up keep, family expenses and other responsibilities. He that serves by the altar must eat by the altar. In the attempt to raise money, men of God should not use tricks or gimmicks to rouse their congregation to give money. Why would a man set himself in conflict against God because he wants to raise money for the work of God? God needs no man's help. God is able to help Himself. If the project is initiated by God, heaven will finance it. God will stir up the heart of His people to give to His projects. Be honest and truthful when raising money for God's work. Tell the people what the money is needed for and encourage them to give sacrificially. Don't make promises you do not have the capacity or God's backing to fulfil. Stop asking your congregation to give certain sums of money in order to become millionaires. Those are lies from the pit of hell. If money is needed for anything, let the people know. Do not sell handkerchiefs, anointing oil, special water or anything whatsoever to raise money. If after buying your anointed handkerchiefs they do not automatically become millionaires as you have promised them, they will label you as a liar and eventually leave your Church for you! These things have a way of backfiring. Oh man of God, live a simple life. Do not run after material things the way the people of the world do. Do not compete with anybody, thereby putting yourself under pressure to raise too much money than the capacity of your congregation. Some men of God travel overseas to claim they have orphanages and helping the poor when they only want to fill their bellies. Liars have no place in the kingdom of God. Maintain your integrity in all things including your attitude to money. A word is enough for the wise. God bless you.
