Picture of an eye with 'God sees us with eyes of love written on it.

God sees

Moses had been carrying the burden of the children of Israel on his mind for quite some time now. It was like the enemy was having a field day. God was silent all through. Can’t God see what was happening? Moses tried to rescue the situation but it was a big mistake. He ended up in exile.

Moses in the land of Midian already resigned to fate. He dared not think of going back to Egypt to execute his well planned revolt.

“….and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage” (Exo. 2:23).

The people sighed and groaned. There was no help from anywhere. Pharaoh was a hard taskmaster. He kept the people of God in Perpetual bondage. The people groaned under the bondage. The more they groaned, the more they were afflicted.

It looked as if God had forgotten his people. All the testimonies of the patriarchs began to fade away in the minds of the people. The reality of the trouble was enormous. Where can help come from?

Sometimes, we find ourselves in such situations like this and we are tempted to make utterances against the majesty of God. God who made the eyes can surely see. He who made the ears can surely hear. God who made the mind can surely know. He makes everything beautiful in his time. Not our time, but his own time, God’s time.

God hears

A period of time had been prophesied for Israel to spend in Egypt. That period must be fulfilled. That was why it seems God was silent.

“And the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows” (Exo. 3:7).
